BEST BREWERIES IN MIAMI

Updated: Jun 10, 2023

Don't be fooled by the South Florida heat, it can get very hot and humid. No surprise there's a big crave by many people for a refreshing cold beer in the middle of the day. The last few years there has been a big brewery boom in all of SoFlo, there's honestly so many. That's why to make things easier for you, we tell you the best breweries in Miami and their staple beers.

Veza Sur Brewing Co.

(Wynwood)

Veza Sur, the brewery that gets turned up like it's a nightclub no matter the time of day. They recreate the fresh flavors you can find in Central and South America foods and drinks. You could argue the crowd's favorite is the Spanglish Latin Lager, crisp and refreshing. However, you should definitely try the Mangolandia Blonde Ale. They describe it as a "Miami Summer in a glass" and there's no best way to express how it makes you feel. The only sad part of this story is that it's a seasonal beer only available in the summer months.

If you get hungry while being there, try Chi-Fa's food. This Chinese-Peruvian food truck is parked inside the brewery's lot and offers delicious food so you can keep drinking.

Funky Buddha

(Oakland Park)

Funky Buddha outdoor ambiance by the railroad tracks.

This brewery has a special touch, and it's that is located right by the railroad tracks. It has an industrial look once you go in and if you go to the outside area you get the front row seat when the train passes by. Their beers are really tasty. Their most famous one is the "Floridian", a hefeweizen loved by many for its light taste. Also, for those who like IPAs, their "Hop Gun" is another favorite. If you're into trying beers with different flavors, they have one that many people talk about: Maple Bacon Coffee Porter. This last one is not available year round. The usual release date is around the month of January, so if you want to try it make sure you visit around that time!

One last thing about Funky Buddha that I love is that they have a full kitchen that offers delicious food like burgers, yucca tots (my fav), and salads.

Located in the heart of artsy Wynwood, J Wakefield reflects the vibe found in its surroundings. A bar filled with impressive graffiti's, great music and beer. This brewery is not as spacious as the other ones mentioned in this article so you might end up drinking your beer in the outside area. Good thing they have tables, chairs and some shade to ease the Florida heat. For a refreshing beverage get the El Jefe hefeweizen. In my opinion, their most popular beer with a hint of coconut flakes. A great spot to visit if you're in the Wynwood area.

Tripping Animals Brewing Co.

(Doral)

This funky brewery is all about animals, like you can imagine by their name. Get a taste of some unique beer flavors. Those who like sour beers will enjoy the most here, since they have many options. At the time I wrote this article, they have two pool tables at the back of the room, perfect to enjoy some competition among pals!
